I tried hooking my rear harness line to the protruding B-line on a whim (as opposed to directly to the bar). The front harness line end went right to the bar itself per usual.
I had understood the protruding sliding b-line was actually more intended as a depower/collapse, safety on a leash deal for when you let go?
Anyway, while hooked in, it allowed the bar to "sheet out" and slide up the b-line while maintaining B-line canopy tension.
The result was way less tip folding, and more stability!
It seems, the second gen has approached this with a check line above the bar between the A and B lines, to keep more tension on the mid canopy. I assume then that this helps stability whether hooked or hand held.
