man, starlink....
id be interested to hear what you find out and how you find out. We've had mostly good success with starlink, though we havent used it in baja/lv/lb. Im untrusting of the app on their site that says there is/isnt coverage in places. And, im surprised that its not easier to find out where there is reasonable coverage and what the speeds are.....considering the very high tech involved. Maybe they just havent got around to doing something better regarding coverage reporting.
Often our hotspot was faster than starlink. Aside from bad coverage areas, the only other issue with starlink was that it was a bit flakey. Our use case is 2 people on conference calls, i think we are about a GB per hour each with cameras on, starlink would 'shit the bed' a time or two a day. hotspot was preferred as it was mostly faster, but having both has really helped.
all said, im very happy for the option of starlink and ill continue using it. i think it is awesome tech, that is also maturing. ill take it 10 times out of 10. |
