Hey Tiny,
It's been a while and I've never foiled there, but I don't recall any issues with rocks. Tide shouldn't matter.

I think if you point sail at Roads End, you'll be alright, but there are definitely some rocks downwind of the main launch... Big, eat your foil for lunch rocks! Especially the closer you get to the Hotels. The shark fin rock has a killer little point off of it though. At least the couple of times I've done the Downwinder there.
Other's may know if the regular launch spot has rocks around or not. _________________ "I don't believe in doing work that I don't want to do in order to live a life that I don't want to live."

I think you are safe there. Look at google maps, you can see them down by Chinook Winds a bit further south - those ones snuck up on me and almost ate me once - don't go there!
Those things go out a ways too! Stay frosty!
I'm curious to hear how it goes. |

Hi, I’m not a foiler but I’ve kited Road’s quite a lot. As previously mentioned, as long as you stay at the park there and N of the hotels you should be fine. Once you get to the hotels between Roads and D river there are a lot of sneaky rocks that will often make an appearance right in front of you as soon as you drop in. I’ve bounced off a few doing downwinders. |
