News from our friends at Oregon State Parks - The following day use parks in the Gorge will reopen tomorrow as part of a three phase reopening. Phase 1 includes most of the day use areas; phase 2 is campgrounds; and phase 3 includes parks with high-density of use and/or working collaboratively with partners.
Parks opening tomorrow:
-Government, Lemon and McGuire Islands
-Dabney
-Portland Women’s Forum
-Rooster Rock
-Dalton Point
-HCRH State Trail Cascade Locks to Mosier
-Wyeth
-Starvation Creek
-Viento Day Use
-West Hatfield
-East Hatfield
-Rowena Crest
-Mitchell Point (Wygant and Mitchell Point trails)
-Mid and West Mayer
With limited staff and for the safety of crews some restroom facilities will remain closed at this time. Oregon State Parks are opening several flush restrooms throughout the management unit. The state park restroom facilities that will be opening close to the Hood River community will be: Hatfield West HCRH state trail restrooms, Mayer State Park, Viento day use and Starvation Creek.
Please be respectful of Park Ranger's and plan on not all services, including access to hand washing, being available at your favorite hiking and biking spots at this time. As always, try to leave our trails and parks better than you find them, pack it in pack it out, and maintain social distancing when out and about in this gorgeous weather. |
