Have read a little online about this new SlingShot kite and some are saying that this is the future of kites in terms of wind range, performance, construction, etc...at least in lighter winds. Curious to know if anyone got a chance to demo it and if it holds up to the hype...the 17.5 sounds like a perfect Sauvies kite from what I can tell. Thanks in advance for any input.

I saw a guy out flying what must have been the 20m atleast. It looked good and kept the guy moving...
Check out this pic from Friday at RR where big kites were not needed!

Here is a picture of Aaron Sales on a 17.5m Machine is very very little wind. Take into consideration that Aaron is most likely around 160lbs, and is riding the new Slingshot Glide as well. Still, he was zipping around in hardly nothing...

I think I saw you guys out that night at the event site...I tried the Glide board out it was difficult to sink it...it just wants float, even in such little wind....amazing gear! With this combination of equipment (kite + board), do you think 7mph+ wind is doable?

I think i saw Aaron a few months ago with the machine/glide combo at the SB as well. I'm not sure if it was the same time as that picture was taken, but when I saw him he pretty much went out after everyone elses kites couldn't even stay up, let alone produce enough power to plane. The wind had to be at or under 10mph, because the flag on the piling was barely moving...pretty amazing I'd say. I usually don't like to contribute to hype unless a piece of gear is truly worth the talk, but I think SS has really done something here...

Super low rocker, wide boxy tips, small or no fins... sounds like a light wind weapon to me!
