Meteorologist Forecast
OR_Columbia River forecast valid for Sat, Apr 23, 2005
Issued 4/22 at 6:00 PM by meteorologist Kate Looney - Next scheduled update: 7:00 AM
Special updates issued as needed.
Strongest gains through Central Gorge in the PM.
AM looks weak through most of the Gorge thanks to a nagging coastal low pressure system. As it presses westward off the coast, a thermal low develops inland which should help pop some healthy westerlies in through the Central Gorge, weaker out East.
• Light and variable in the morning with some easterlies lingering Far East.
• Swell, Event should pull low twenties by early afternoon.
• Stevenson, Doug's slightly weaker with upper teens to near 20. Doug's best mid to late PM.
• Maryhill mid to upper teens, Arlington low to mid teens late.

By 2pm it was nice from The Dalles east... by "nice" I mean not raining and 13m rideable, not 70 degree weather and clean wind.
What about today? Looks like glass so far.... |

oh ya know, I'll usually throw up my 1 meter with about 8 meter lines...staying upwind is hell but i can get a good 100-150 yards of distance with a single kiteloop. And it's not the wind that kills ya...it' all the flying debris! |
