I'm organizing a sandbar cleanup for May 15 at 9 am.
We lose the privilege of launching from the grass the week before Memorial day (May 24-27). Exact day to be determined by the Port.
The goal of the cleanup will be to relocate the wood debris away from launch zones and move it to an out of the way spot.
We have 4x4 vehicles lined up to help drag the bigger logs. We don't need anymore.
No fires! No digging logs that are partially buried (they help stabilize the sandbar).
Meet at the Spit at 9:00 am or join us on the sandbar.
Bring gloves. Bring RAKES - plastic and metal.
Loading the wood into pickup trucks is easiest method.
Maybe respond here to let me know if you're available this Saturday at 9?
It's amazing what 10-20 people with 2 trucks can do in a couple hours.

Have you been down there to have a look?
Some of the stuff is pretty large. You will need to cut it up or drag it away.
Its too big to pick up and throw it in a truck.
I really interested to see how many people show up |
