Do you have experience traveling with e-pump? Any guidelines to follow?
Should I check it with luggage or take in my carry on?

I flew with the Slingshot version to Maui in November - couple months ago, and put in my megabag with board, foil, wings, no problem at all - Alaska Airlines

Airlines have limits to lithium batteries based on size, amps I think, for carry on or checked. You’ll have to look it up for which airline you are using.

| Flew with one international without a problem but they do make you check a box saying you don't have lithium batteries so doubt its kosher |

The limit for checked bags last time I checked was 100 wh. The Ride Engine pump is 44.
Caveats: Spare batteries of any type in checked baggage are NEVER acceptable. Not an issue with the Ride Engine pump. Try and travel with the battery as depleted as possible--less energy = less fire hazard. Regulations require that the power & activation switches must be covered to prevent accidental activation. This IS an issue with the RE pump. Fortunately, the RE pump switches are recessed slightly. So I simply taped a rigid coaster over the switch panel. Use gaffer's tape NOT duct tape. Gaffer's tape leaves no nasty residue behind. If you don't cover the switches, and TSA checks your bag, your pump will be removed & discarded and you'll be fined. (Possibly a rather large fine.) If the pump is found at many international destinations over 25% charged and/or switches uncovered and/or exceeding 100wh capacity, you may get to extend your stay for quite some time, free of charge!
