More information about the BOTG and the Blowout

The goal of Bridge of the Gods Kite & Wing Festival is to establish a platform for the next generation of kiters and wingers to launch from and build a future in the sport. This will be the 22nd Bridge of the Gods adding to the longest kiteboarding freestyle event in North America.

Open to ALL wingers and kiters 20 and under. Divisions and age groups will be decided at 9:30am at the Riders Meeting. There will be Amateur and Sponsored divisions.

This is a freestyle event with no racing.

Entry is $100

Registration will go from 8:30-9:30am with a Riders Meeting at 9:30am. A first possible start at 10am. Heats will run all day until around 4pm. An awards ceremony will follow with prizes for all competitors. Event concludes after 5pm.

We recommend competitors bring a skateboard or something similar to move quickly around the parking area.

A food cart will be serving lunch from 10am-4pm. Stevenson has Big Foot Coffee if you're looking for quick breakfast or a coffee on your way to the event.

If you've never been to the Stevenson launch, somego to the Stevenson boat ramp and you will see the event. Stevenson has a smaller launch area so kiters will be extra careful and thoughtful with their line placement.

There is online Pre Registration for the BOTG youth competition open at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/bridge-of-the-gods-youth-kite-and-wing-freestyle-competition-tickets-948245256087?aff=oddtdtcreator although it is not necessary.

The Blowout is ready to race for the 37th time. Open to kiters, wingers, windsurfers, water skis, outrigger canoes, and anything else you’re crazy enough to try it on.
Everyone will be placed on a team of four at random. Although racers don’t have to ride together there are incentives to finishing together. This adds to the fun, helps with safety, and a great way to distribute prizes.

The race starts in Stevenson and ends in Hood River with a beer and pizza awards party. Prizes for ALL competitors based on team results.

There is no online Registration for the Blowout. EVERYONE must register Sunday July 28th in person at Stevenson Kite Beach starting at 8:30am. Saturday July 27th is a backup wind option. $120 per person limited to 80 people so don’t be there late trying to get in.

Looking at the cam, it looks like the BOTG contest is going off today, and the Blowout seems likely to have good wind tomorrow.
