You are correct in the context of trying to procreate.

Run with it, make yourself a new forum. I hope you have lots of extra time, $, and knowhow.

This forum isn't perfect, but it works! It doesn't have a bunch of bells and whistles which is very refreshing in this day-and-age.

And it keeps wind junkies connected.

Kiteboarding is for losers. JP, maybe if you actually tried winging, you'd understand that it is a superior sport in every way.

I don't think so!! A claim this big is just plain BS. Here is just a short list of points where wing dinging lacks behind kiting:

*Launching in knee deep water
*Riding through shallow water unconcerned
*Keeping your wind power source out of the water and sand free
*Deep water starting ease
*Unobstructed field of view when riding
*Surfing ocean breaking waves that have size and power with throwing lips and steep faces
*Having one hand free when reaching
*Real power when you need it

I will readily admit that winging has some real advantages in the Gorge and other flat water venues. But, on the Oregon coast with serious surf it is not superior.

Four edges suck and two edges truck! Snowboarding is far superior to skiing. 😈

And don't get me started on Celtic punk versus country music! ☘

Discuss... 😆🤣

@Windian
you forgot launching through a decent shorebreak, sucks with a wing ( & foil) easy with a kite

Kiting is the best. Please keep kiting. The popular wing launches are getting too crowded.

Winging is way less gear intensive than Windsurfing, but you're right about the launches with easy access to the shore being crowded by wingers. Easy is defined by a close/short walk from the car to the water's edge.

If you never windsurfed, more than half the battle of getting on the water was getting rigged and walking down to the water's edge with your heavy and cumbersome gear.

That is one reason why kiting took off. . .less gear and much lighter.

Kind of like things have gone full circle.

Rooster shoreline will be a long walk this fall when the east winds start kicking in.

All that said, it has been fun watching folks winging. They are having a blast.

Now here's a subject I can sink my teeth into. In general, both genres are ripe with crap. If I had to choose, I'd go with country. I can find a lot of country and country-ish music that is really good. Celtic punk? I mean what is that? All I can think of is Flogging Molly and it gives me a headache. Is it really even punk? Dropkick Murphys have some good stuff for sure. Is that considered Celtic? Great topic, let's burn this out!
