Hey for the second time this season I had to stop out at Stevenson cause everybody left! It was still windy at 6:30 when I packed up and left, totally solid 13-15m wind.

Okay yeah I can do that, but wet kite or risking the kite drifting back into the trees... neither sounded too cool.

Sand Sucks and so does the wind at land of sand.
Stevenson has much better wind.
I would say stay out and dump your kite by the boat launch when your done. A wet kite is better than limited water time.

13-15m really not much wind. Shoud be able to land on the grass without your kite flying away. I do it all the time when I'm by myself. Just Step It Up.
Local info.

by the way, I have been living here for 27 year and have been windsurfing/kiting the gorge for 18 of those years. Im my world the land of sand is the ocean.

Ryan,
I don't disagree, and if I would have had my choice I would have been there at Stevenson... or even better, the real land of sand...
But stating the "opinion" as strongly as you did as an unknown "guest", and making me look like unknowledable dork, based off my simple explanation to Phillip of where we were... did get me a bit testy.
Put your name up there next time Ryan.
Double Cheers, Jon

Here be why I was at the sandbar... The wind was actually not bad, but your really needed a 16-18m kite... Unfortunately a wisp of cloud hung out with the sun and the town and water did not really light up like I was hopping... Patience Grasshopper, patience...
