Has anyone used Starlink in LV or Los Barriles for work?
Is speed and connection good?
Any feedback would be useful.
Thx |

man, starlink....
id be interested to hear what you find out and how you find out. We've had mostly good success with starlink, though we havent used it in baja/lv/lb. Im untrusting of the app on their site that says there is/isnt coverage in places. And, im surprised that its not easier to find out where there is reasonable coverage and what the speeds are.....considering the very high tech involved. Maybe they just havent got around to doing something better regarding coverage reporting.
Often our hotspot was faster than starlink. Aside from bad coverage areas, the only other issue with starlink was that it was a bit flakey. Our use case is 2 people on conference calls, i think we are about a GB per hour each with cameras on, starlink would 'shit the bed' a time or two a day. hotspot was preferred as it was mostly faster, but having both has really helped.
all said, im very happy for the option of starlink and ill continue using it. i think it is awesome tech, that is also maturing. ill take it 10 times out of 10. |

We have starlink running and a hardware based vpn router. Bypassing the starlink router. We video conference with zero latency. _________________ "I have often regretted my speech, never my silence" ~Xenocrates |

I'm curious, did you perform any speed tests for upload and download between the two modalities? There's 'fast' and then there's 'quick' - satellite uplinks will always have an inherent latency (delay) due to the distances they have to relay signals back and forth, but modern links have gotten faster throughput. |
